The multi-award winning Gold-A6 receives a special enhancement for its sides and back: a gorgeous exotic tonewood named Bocote. Bocote is best known for its majestic wood grain patterns in yellow, orange and dark brown colors with distinct black lines, but it is also known for its warm and deep sound much like rosewood. The rest of the Gold-A6 Bocote remains the same with outstanding features like the ATV (Aged-to-Vintage) torrefied top, sonically enhanced UV finish, and Fishman® Flex Blend system, and with the introduction of the new Bocote option, our most popular Gold Series guitar is now more enticing than ever.

Aged to Vintage Top

A vintage instrument is the holy grail of acoustic guitar tone. The wood on the top cures and opens up more over time. This unleashes a tonal quality that is missing in new instruments – until now. Using a special process we call ATV (Aged To Vintage), we treat the solid sitka spruce top to give it that big and open tone of a decades-old, highly-sought-after acoustic. This torrefaction process delivers that amazing tone to you right out of the box.

Solid Sitka Spruce Top with Solid Bocote Back & Sides

Best known for its majestic wood grain patterns, the exotic Bocote comes from the same family as Ziricote and is found in the similar region (Central America to Northern Amazon). Tonally speaking, Bocote is more similar to rosewood and has warm, deep bass, broad spectrum of mids, and plenty of good volume with long sustain. Bocote is a perfect match for the premium grade solid Sitka spruce top found in our Gold Series, with a brilliant and clear high-end, warm and rich midrange, and a deep but tight low-end for a beautifully balanced combination of tones.

Auditorium Cutaway Body Type

With dimensions of 117㎜(4 5/8″) body depth, upper bout width at 292㎜(11 1/2″) and lower bout width at 405㎜(16″), the Auditorium body size is perfectly in between the large Dreadnought and the more intimate Grand Concert. This makes the Auditorium body type ideal for both strumming/flatpicking and fingerstyle playing and suits the versatile acoustic player who prefers to have one guitar to cover a variety of sounds and playing styles.

Fishman® Flex Blend System

With a sophisticated modern design and innovative technical engineering, the Fishman® Flex Blend System offers a wide range of sonic control along with a built-in tuner. Volume, Tone, Phase, Blend and Tuner functions are all available from three knobs and the tuner display. You can also adjust the Tone knob to best suit fingerpicking or strumming techniques without feedback issues and other sonic anomalies while delivering the most natural acoustic sound to your amplification system.

Ebony Bridge Pins

The high density of Ebony wood keeps the fundamental acoustic sound focused and tight with greater sonic projection than plastic, enhancing the transfer of the string vibrations throughout the soundboard top, body and the neck.

Macassar Ebony Fingerboard

Very similar to Rosewood in both looks and sound, the Macassar Ebony produces a deep lush sound with transparent highs. The wood’s detailed grains add a luxurious high-end look.

Hand-Rolled Fret Edge Treatment

The shaping and treatment of a guitar’s frets have a big impact on comfort and performance. Most guitar makers simply bevel the frets at each end to eliminate the sharp edges. Boutique acoustic builders, however, use a method to dress their frets to make them round, smooth, and ultra-comfortable to touch and play. This process is highly complex and time-consuming and requires the skilled workmanship of experienced craftsmen. On the Gold, the Cort offers this enhancement typically reserved for much higher priced instruments.

Neck Profile

Cort has developed comfortable dimensions in neck thickness from the headstock to the heel to increase comfort in your hands and optimize playability. To assure consistency, Cort uses state-of-the-art CNC machines to accurately mill each and every neck. Each neck is then carefully sanded and finished by skilled craftsmen who have a dedication and passion for building some of the best acoustic guitars in the world.

DoubleLock Neck Joint

The connection between a guitar’s neck and body is another key factor for great sound. On the Gold, we started with a tight fitting traditional dovetail neck joint. We then reinforced it by adding a bolt. This DoubleLock neck joint maximizes the transfer of tone and enhances resonance on the Gold.

Walnut Reinforced Neck

The neck on the Gold has been reinforced for added rigidity and stability using two special inserts. This is constructed with two pieces of walnut installed to add stability while still retaining the natural properties of wood to further upgrade the Gold.

Sonically Enhanced UV Finish

UV finish is about 30% thinner than standard finishes and this allows the wood to “breathe” and vibrate more freely. This process requires a shorter drying time and reduces chemical interaction between the finish and the woods, which is ideal for your instrument’s longevity. Due to the much shorter drying time and the lack of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) in the UV finish material, it is also an environmentally friendly process. This high-tech finish is strong enough to be resistant to scratches but lightweight enough to improve the natural acoustic resonance of the body for a full, rich tone.

Exclusive Deluxe Soft-Side Case

The new Cort Deluxe Soft- Side Case is not only stylish and sleek but combines the best attributes of a hard case with the flexibility of a padded gig-bag for superb protection for the instrument as well as excellent portability.
