The new Flow Series is the result of expertly carried out research and tests to launch an innovative guitar series most suited for fingerstyle artists and enthusiasts. The OM body sized Flow-OC features a 25.5”(648㎜) neck scale with 1 3/4”(44.5㎜) nut width widely regarded as the ‘golden standard’ among fingerstyle players for its optimal string spacing and string tension. And with its completely redesigned asymmetric neck profile, the playing experience is more comfortable yet faster and facilitates more versatility than ever. The solid red cedar top combined with solid- mahogany back and sides provides deep and warm lows and mids with clean tone definition in the highs, and the use of L.R. Baggs® Anthem dual source system ensures lively and natural tones for any style of playing when plugged in.
Solid Red Cedar Top with Solid Mahogany Back & Sides
Compared to the various species of spruce, cedar is softer and has less density for a very responsive feel and an open sound. Tonally, it is darker than spruce and has a strong and rich midrange for warm fundamentals and bright overtones. Cedar can get loud with even light picking attack and touch, making it ideal for fingerstyle and classical guitar playing. When paired with mahogany, the deep warmth in the low-mids is enhanced while the top-end remains sweet and clean.
OM Cutaway Body Shape
The OM’s compact size is ideal for players with a small body frame or seeking playing comfort. The bright and stronger high-midrange emphasis is better suited for fingerpicking than strumming, which often requires more low-end. The Venetian cutaway on this model allows easy access to the high frets.
Hand-Rolled Body & Fret Edge Treatment
The shaping and treatment of guitar’s edges have a big impact on comfort and performance. On Flow-OC, the sharp edges on the body, fretboard and frets are all hand-rolled to make them round, smooth and ultra- comfortable to touch and play. This process is highly complex and time-consuming and requires the skilled workmanship of experienced craftsmen. With its main focus on fingerstyle players, the Flow-OC features this enhancement typically reserved for much higher priced instruments.
Ebony Bridge & Pins
The high density of ebony keeps the fundamental acoustic sound focused and tight with greater sonic projection than plastic, enhancing the transfer of the string vibrations throughout the soundboard top, body and the neck.
New Neck Scale & Nut Width
Flow-OC features a 25.5”(648㎜) neck scale with 1 3/4”(44.5㎜) nut width widely regarded as the ‘golden standard’ among fingerstyle players for its optimal string spacing and string tension.
Ebony Fretboard with Dash Inlays
The jet-black beauty and slick smoothness of ebony is not only beautiful to look at, but adds cleaner tone definition thanks to its rock solid rigidity. The new ‘dash’ fretboard inlay, made from brighter colored maple, is applied in contrast to darker ebony, exclusive to Flow-OC.
Ergo-A Asymmetric Neck Profile
A completely redesigned asymmetric neck profile is designed for Flow-OC, giving experienced players and enthusiasts alike a comfortable ergonomic playing experience that is optimized for various playing styles.
Walnut Reinforced Neck
Using two special inserts made of more rigid walnut, the neck on the Flow-OC has been reinforced for added rigidity and stability to withstand various types of fingerstyle playing.
Slim Neck Heel Design
The low-profile slim neck heel design is great for playing on the higher frets that gets less in the way of your playing hand while maintaining a solid tone transfer between neck and body of the guitar.
L.R. Baggs® Anthem
The L.R. Baggs® Anthem pickup/preamp system delivers the pure acoustic vibrations of the instrument to the amplifier and PA without any coloration. Unneeded feedback can also be easily and effectively controlled through minimalistic controls that do not interfere with the look of the instrument.
Gold Tuners with Ebony Tuning Keys
The gold colored tuners with ebony keys are a fitting match to the calm and elegant aesthetics of Flow-OC while providing great tuning stability.
Graph Tech® TUSQ Nut & Saddle
Preferred by many guitar makers and players for rich tone and sustain, the TUSQ is an advanced polymer that’s formed under high heat and pressure for uniform density. It’s designed to transfer string energy more efficiently, and to make guitars come alive with enhanced harmonics, volume and sustain.
