Solid State Logic has introduced the SSL 1, a two-channel USB audio interface that they describe as plug-and-play with professional studio sound. The design is aimed at fledgling audio creatives as well as experienced producers on the move, due to its compact footprint.
“From its class-leading preamp with 4K analog enhancement to its professional-grade 32-bit/192 kHz conversion capability and high-current headphone output, the SSL 1 is poised to capture creative inspiration for users at any level,” SSL writes. “With flexible power options, including bus power or a 5V external source such as a phone charger or power bank, SSL 1 is ideally suited to mobile recording setups and offers seamless use with USB Audio Class 2.0 phones and tablets, as well as Mac and Windows computers.”
Channel 1 on the unit is tailored for microphones with an XLR input and phantom power. Channel 2 is a dedicated instrument/line input for direct recording of bass, guitar, synth, and more. SSL includes the SSL Production Pack to provide amp modeling tools and processing options.
